Anti-AI Policy
As an author, and therefore an artist myself, I am firmly against the use of AI. I understand the damage AI is doing to traditional and digital artists, writers, and narrators, as well as the environment. It has always been my goal to support human artists in an age where AI is threatening their livelihood and removing them from the creative process.
Before I hire an artist, I take great care to review past work and have it vetted by multiple professional artists. I also ask for references and speak to past clients, and view progression from sketch to render throughout the process. If an artist I’ve worked with is accused of using generative AI, I do an additional vetting of the art through multiple professional artists.
I take AI accusations very seriously, but as an author, I am not qualified to investigate these accusations beyond consulting other artists. Furthermore, it would be unwise (and potentially libelous) for me to accuse another creator of using generative AI without proof.
However, I find generative AI so repugnant that I prefer to err on the side of caution, and have removed art from artists I hired who fell under repeated scrutiny after I commissioned them.
If you see my name or work associated with AI, I do not consent or support it.
